Get Things Done with AI

Get Shit Done

I’ve developed a Get Shit Done (GSD) system that works extremely well for organizing the “shit” in your life so you have plenty of time left over to do fun things (read *The 4-Hour Workweek* if you want the whole story).

I get a lot of questions about applying AI to GSD (or “Getting Things Done,” as it’s commonly known). It’s time to create a GSD AI version for people who want to incorporate the capabilities of AI into their system.

The GSD uses the acronym VOD, which stands for Collect, Organize, and Act.

We’ll start by looking at AI applications that assist with data collection.

  • Todoist Ramble: Record tasks and link them directly to a project and a due date
  • Wispr Flow is perfect for recording speech and gathering ideas. This app is cross-platform. The mobile version is ideal for recording long prompts or ideas.
  • ChatGPT Voice Mode: By jotting down a few ideas in voice mode, I can easily use them later as a fully developed text.
  • ChatGPT Image Input: Capture ideas instantly, and they’re ready to be further processed during the planning phase.

I also tried building a GTD system in Claude, but it quickly became way too complicated. For keeping track of tasks and projects, a good calendar and a good task manager are simply much better and easier.
